Mk4 engine mount options...
I've modded cvh mount to fit blacktop. It was a pain to get engine and box in for mock up so wondered how easy it'd be to add focus/mondeo mount cause it'd just drop out bottom then.
As it's bolted up on old mount now it doesn't look to much work to weld frame up for mount as people do for gearbox coversions. Engine is from a mondeo so was going to ask around for an old mount to mock up. Good idea or not? Already got lots of welding/smoothing etc going on so not bothered about welding.
It'd give me decent clearance at back of engine for alternator too as cvh mount wouldn't be there so could mount alt in original location. Anyone any info or pics on this mount conversion??
Thanks in advance guys. Car is mk4 escort. And if anyone has a spare mondeo/focus mount gimme a shout! (think mondeo would match engine better though as focus looks to have wider spacing on bolts in alloy camblet cover section.)
