i have a k reg mark 5 b escort xr3i cab im putting an alarm on it came to it one day reconnected the battery my engine fan kicked in the engine was stone cold and keys were not in ele windows were working aswell without the key in. look closer when i put the key in and on to full ign the normal lights came on but taking the keys out the lights went dull on testing the black 4 pin plug that comes from the ign barrel put my spike in the black wire and fuel pump kicked in and would not stop

im thinking fuse box

anyone any ideas ???

 

Fuse box problems normally stop things from working; - they are less likely to cause things to switch on when they shouldn't

I think you need to check your wiring. It sounds like you have inadvertantly connected two circuits together and are powering up some of the ignition circuits via the alarm without the key being turned.
