i have just put a new engine in my 1985 xr2 and seem to have a cluth problem. when the engines not runnin it goes into gear no probs, but when its running it doesnt it just grinds and squeels. its as if the clutch isnt engaging. the gear linkage and clutch its self are fine and fitted properly.

any ideas out there?

u got the selector set properly on the box?

 

ah no! took the engine out and put it back in for the second time just to make sure its on the gear box spline properly. absolute nightmare at the mo. will check the selector tommorrow, cheers
