Remote servo?
My Mk3 Escort will be getting an ST170 6 speed box.... only thing is the servo will need to be ditched and replaced by a pedal box set up due to space.
I'm not so keen on having to heave on the brakes in a road car, so are there any good options for a remote servo?
...or any other ideas?

his question states hes after servo assisted brakes
not sure how much room you need but the 2l mondeo one is shorter slightly but a larger dia?

I hve the cossie servo trial mounted on a mk4 firewall and it at least frees up space as there is no traditional vacuum drum included. I don't know how much space you require and how well this is suited to a LHD car.
I could take a measurement for you, if I knew what to measure.
As a bonus, it's a superior servo that works always equally and not depending on the throttle position (amount of vacuum).
Remote servos are of course another standard way of solving this kind of issues and have been used for ages even as standard fitment.

LHD shouldn't be an issue as the main difference is the lack of a crossbar from the right hand side. All the braking gear is in roughly the same place on both versions.
Could you post photos?
Yes, it's a LHD. Would be strange to have a RHD over here...
I can post you some pictures perhaps tomorrow.
I'm not doing the servo conversion because of the 6-speed box. I'm doing the conversion because of left foot braking, rear disc conversion and pure pedal feel and wondering if I might get away with a 6-speed conversion easier because of it.

Ok, here is the Cossie electrohydraulic servo connected to a mk4 RST firewall using a 2cm thick spacer to change the bol pattern. Luckily the pushrod is 2cm longer on the Cossie servo. As you can see, not much of the package comes below the master cylinder line. The lowest part is the ABS actuators that can also be removed to my knowledge if/when ABS is not needed.

It will sit where the original one will be, next to the left hand side turret, just without the big vacuum drum.
Are there any good pictures of the Getrag 6-speed as it sits in an RST engine bay?

I'll happily be proven wrong though!
