Escort Van running problem
I have a 1999 Escort Van 1.8 diesel (non turbo) which has been playing up. Basically it stutters a bit when driving. I can compare it a bit to when i HT lead is on its way out on a petrol engine. Something holds it back for a second, then it goes again. Other times it still drives ok but feels a little underpowered. This is alot more noticable when cold but doesn't completely disappear once warm
I've changed the fuel filter and injector crossover pipes, as well as running injector cleaner through it.

Did you use MILLERS injector cleaner, this is awsome stuff and the best I've found.
What make of filter did you use ?, delphi are well worth paying extra for, it may be you are starting to suck air from a perishing filter head diaphragm, see if it is nice and solid the pumpy bit.

No wasn't Millers injector cleaner. Fuel filter was a Fram item. I'll check the button on top of the filter housing but i'm pretty sure it gets solid
Any other suggestions?

Still having problems with this. Wouldn't even start this morning. Starter motor turns and it'll fire for a second if i press the accelerator, but then cuts out
Fuel primer is solid and fuel flows from the pipe that goes to the injector pump.
This is twice now that it wont start. Both after only starting the van up to move it. Seems to start ok the day after a longish drive.
