Hi, I have a 1984 escort cab, it is an XR3i with Bosch K-Jetronic MFi. The problem I am having is when the engine is left to idle it is hunting between about 500rpm and 1500rpm. It also often stalls when dropping on the low side. Any ideas as to what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated.

Get it on a gas analyser mate and make sure the Co is ok first off.

 

As said get CO checked, best if you are friendly with a mechanic/MOT garage.
