DONT just put a higher rating of fuse in , if it's blowin it's for a reson , Have you deffo got a good solid earth ? check your powers r ok and that there correctly wired , have seen peoplr use the illumination wire as an earth and produce simular effects . I assume it didnt have this problem when it was in your focus ?

the illumination wird is usually the orange one. I once accidentally contacted the 2 power wires (yellow and red) and blew my central locking fuse. Id check that the wires are not in contact with anything metal behind the dash. You could have shorted on something. Put the orinal fuse back into the CD player.

You had another thread with same problem, as said putting a higher rating fuse will do NOTHING as it is blowing for a reason most defo a short circuit. Illumination wire takes a feed from lights so when switched on unit lights as well and as said normally orange.

Fuse is fine, it just protects that feed 15A is plenty.

It needs to be earthed and the wire for that will be black.

It wont be "Wrapped" it will be bolted via a connector to a earth point. The illumination wire is not an earth it's a live feed which should be supplied by the lights so when they are switched on the unit illuminates as well.

Also best of having one thread rather than multiple in different sections.

hi there so i have connected the 2 plastic box clip things to the toyota with a toyota adapter would the illumination wire not be in there?if its not should there be a place where i can just connect it or would i need to tap into a line for it? in my focus i dont think the illumination wire was connected well if it wasnt in the box clips and just went on when i turned on the ignition. and there was no earth bolted on but if i did bolt it would it have to be an earthing point or can it just be a bit of metal?

what colour is the illumination and earth?

ok best to take it out and start again ,
1 black wire to good earth .
2 red to constant battery feed
3 yellow to ingnition live
dont worry about the illumination wire for now it will work fine with out .

As martian said 10-15 amp in the back is the norm it should say in the cd play what to put in . you can get connectors to plug straight in that take the guess work out of fittin head units if your not to hot with your wires .
