Hi i have a 2001 1.8 petrol zetec focus, This las 2 months it has been giving me a problem that no one can figure out..., After a certain driving distance the car loses all power and stutters for a while until the car goes again if i let the car sit maybe 10-15 minutes the car will go perfectly for another while. The problem has got worse over the last month, Ive had all air, fuel and oil filter changed and a new cat converter put on and the problem is still occouring. Need HELP

Try driving it with the fuel cap off(just to see), if the tank vent is blocked it causes a vacuum as there is no longer breathing holes in the caps, could be causing enough vacuum in the tank to deprive engine of fuel.

Is engine management light on?? possibly a lambda sensor! need to check for diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's)

 

Na there is no engine managment lights ever coming on so i dunno wat it is thanks m8
