Focus Pre facelift clear front indicators

Hi there

Ive bought some clear indicators but inside them they have an orange tube like filter.
Can you remove these?
Has anybody done this?

Some can be knocked out, broken out, drilled out etc, then use the osram silver indicator bulbs, silver when off but amber when lit!!
