Hi gents,

I need to replace the spark plugs on my 1.8 petrol zetec mondeo 2002. Do I have to purchase the titanium plugs as stated (they are very pricey) or can I use standard plugs. Can you advise the gap that needs setting and the best place to buy the plugs.

i would replace like for like they use them for a reason motor factors are the cheapest

 

If you want to keep the long service intervals I would use the recommended ones, but yest there are cheaper ones that will work just as well, won't last as well though.

i've always used ngk platinums in my 1.8 and 2l zetec e engines as have others i know and found to perform the best. i'venever had any issues with them and my cars have always run spot on and performed brilliantly with them so i recomend them.

i've always gapped them to 1mm according to my 2000 manual but a mate with more upto date info says these can be gapped to 1.3mm which is far better than the motorcraft ones at 1mm.
