Focus Speedo Problem?
Ok, my other half runs about in a 1.4 focus on a 'T' Reg. Just lately when you turn the key, all the needles max out on all clocks then go back to zero then reset themselves? Then everything reads as it should. After 10 minutes of driving the speedo stops working altogether and the mileage readout vanishes leaving all the other dials to behave as they should.
Can anyone shed any light on what this problem maybe?

A guage sweep when you key on usually indicates low battery charge, but cluster faults are very common on mk1 focus' Your local friendly ford dealer will look into it and fit a new cluster if necessary for £99 or £129 I believe, as this issue was flagged up on watchdog a while back.

check the back of the clocks ,quite common on early focuss for the solder joints to dry out or go mouldy causing the said problems you have !!
my sisters use to do it and thats what it was , also seen a few others with same thing
