the engine is a xr3i 1.6 mfi. can i scrap the inlet injection manifold. and just put a 1.6 carburettor and inlet on instead?? will the carburettor manifold line up with mfi head?? will it run properly?? wanna throw engine into mk1 fiesta.. thanks....

 

yep manifold will bolt strait on mate.emgine is the same as a carb fed mk 2 xr2 fiesta

just make sure fuel pump is right one for carb mate.

 

as said heads are the same on the casting for the inlet manifold ports anyhow.
lean burn/hemi heads are different, but make no odds for your modification.
you will need to use a fuel pressure reg for injection pump to carb though and override the fuel pump relay so it works with ignition instead of off ecu.
reg availible from burton power etc.
