anti freeze?

Default anti freeze?

is it bad to put to much anti freeze in?


today when hungover i flushed the water system in my mr2 and refilled it with 5ltrs of anti freeze without even thinkig about it.. (still drunk )

was that to much?

i ran the car up for 20mins or so and the fans didnt come on which they normaly would!! maybe its just running cooler

im not sure how much cooolant they should hold in total :s...

I woulden't leave it like that personally, I would think to much will be bad for internals as basically you have no water with it and suprised if it won't overheat not get to normal temp. As a guide it's normally 50% mixture

It is a strong mix, as I would expect it to need nearer 2 1/2 to 3 Litres, for a 50/50 ratio, but don't know how much your system holds.
It won't affect the running temperature it might eat hoses though, with it being overly strong, but very unlikely, I always run mine around 60%.
There is no way it could cause it to overheat, some countries run 100% antifreeze, where they have seriously cold climates, but it is a slightly different type.
