My reverse lights dont work what could this be?

what car??????????? maybe the switch is knackered,bulbs have blown,fuse is blown,broken wire there's some for starters!

i'd say the switch is buggered in the gearbox.

i lost aload of gearbox oil and have not topped it back up could this be the problem

Will almost certainly be switch, no won't be oil as the switch is mechanically actuated by a prong which closed switch when reverse gear is selected.
