Air injectors
Hi guys.... 
During my navigation on this forum, i can see that in england, used a lot the air injcetors system for boost control....
It's a very interesting system....but how does it function?! It's very strange for me.....can you help me?!

First of all, you can't use this system without changing your eprom!
Air injectors work exactly opposite to the normal function of boost control.
If the injector is closed there's no pressure to the waste gate and the turbo is allowed to make as much boost as possible.
If you want to decrease the boost you open the air injector a bit and apply some boost to the waste gate, thereby opening it.
So, the higher the duty cycle on the air injector, the lower the boost is.
Normal boost control is the higher the duty cycle, the higher the boost is.
The advantage is that less air is blown off than with normal boost control.
For motorsports applications (with restrictors) this is very nice to have.
On an unrestricted turbo the gains are very small (if there's a gain).

Criscsw, where do you want to use it for? Rally group A with restrictor or road use without restrictor? Any tuners in Italy that can remap the standard Weber-Marelli ecu's?

I want to know bettere this system for a road installation/use with a TD05HL.....
In Italy only some tuners, can remap the IAW 48P8....but in the future i'll install probably a Mec Tronik MTE2......can i use the air injectors with Mec Tronik?!

in italy we are in the 8th century about cosworth

It's very interesting, that in UK with a simple L8 or P8, you can do all these things......

The injectors used are used for air control but are in fact CNG injectors developed for Compressed Natural Gas.
The std amal valve is totally capable of boost control also.
A lot of things done on cars are done for either bling reasons or because someone else has done it.
