I have a thick black and red wire that runs along the side of the drivers door. I have found out this is for the fuel pump but ave no idea when it connects up to. PLease help.

 

Make and model of car??

 

One end goes to the pump, the other goes to the fuel pump relay. Pump's at the back, relay's at the front - if it's a Sierra, behind the glovebox.

 

Be careful, as there is an identical black/red EACH side of the car where you describe, same thickness, the alternate wire is for the brake lights, and I cannot remember which side is which now, think the drivers side is pump.
