Default RS holding back between 2-3k

Just got my new RS Turbo, its great however it just holds back between 2 sand 3000rpm, after that its fine it just stutters a little before that. What should I be looking out for/looking to change?

If it's new to you, I would do a major service first, and make sure you do the fuel filter, as this could be your problem but needs doing every year anyway.

Its had a recent fuel filter according the previous owner. Im going to do oil etc, maybe tappets too as they are quite audible! Im thinking maybe the dump valve could be causing some problems? If only i knew what to do with all the pipes coming off it and all the t pieces invloved and i would remove it as have a blanking plug

I don't know the previous owner so can't comment, but my car came with a folder full of receipts, most of which were lies, including a full service inc filter change just 5 weeks before I got the car.
After really getting stuck into sorting the car when I replaced the "new" filter it had a date on it, 12 years previous, also had according to receipts diesel transits parts on it!!
It may well have been changed if it looks new it's ok, just do everything else and see what you find.

I Will try to find out whether hes actually done it or not. I took the d-valve off today and the car still has the problem, i was convinced it was going to be that! It feels like it runs better without it though....
