Hi there people, My girlfriend has an escort which normally go's well at the best of times but this last while you could pull out at a junction with your foot flat out to the floor, up through the gears and feels like it has no power then all of a sudden it'll take off with again like it should have at the start??? also it idol's badly up and down and die's out as well or rev's it self up with out touching anything??? could it be tps?? or idol control valve??? as anyone an idea of the cause's of these problem's???? Your help would be much appreciated...

 

Won't be iscv, as this cant affect power, tps is very unlikely, a failing coilpack is possible to cause what you have, or even some more basic ignition fault.
