Default turbo into XR2?

got a few questions about this..like how much a company usually charge to do this? is there anyone in the southend area who can? is it better to use the fiesta or escort engines? is there anything else id need to do the conversion? would i be ok with the standard gearbox? what kindof 0-60mph times do ppl get with a standard turbo in mk2 fiesta being there so light?
cheers for n e help guys

yea id like to do it myself but i wouldnt have a clue where to start..i asked round n it turns out this company rsautomotive will supply and fit an escort turbo engine (they said it would have 185bhp as they up the boost n a few other things) for £1500..seems a lil steep to me
you got a rough idea o how quick ur motor hits 60 mate?

Well they need to cut a section out the front crossmember, just below the slam panel.. If they do it right then they will weld a section back in.. Without it the exhaust downpipe from the turbo won't fit in..They will need to fit in the fuel distributor some where.. I move the battery on mine slightly more tight into the wing and welded a bracket onto front chassis leg and mounted in there. They need to locate the fuel ecu and the spark control unit somewhere. They need a 180 bhp chip of some description. I'm using a turbosystems one.. Then u need a -31 actuator set to run 1 bar. piper cam. Then it'll hit 180 brake. If u use a bayjoo chip it can run up to 18 psi and u'll see closer to 190 + but u need a bigger intercooler. If they using a second hand engine that hasn't been rebuilt which it sounds like it then it would be best to fit a rebuilt one with forged pistons!!

easier way would be a tt kit, im runnin about 210bhp ish tt conversion, if you get a kit, on a good xr or rs engine i could get a reliable 180bhp, or give me your car, a tt kit and 3 days, and all be runnin a sweet beat of low 14 sec 1/4, but you do really need a rs lsd.
mk2 take it too a place with proper timing gear, eg pod or similer place, trax is ment to be not 100%, but i might be wronge.
cheers danny

if you got a full tt kit, about 8 hours i think it took me, one my first time, but then another 3-4 hours to set ign, boost, and fuelin, usin a wideband display, and a set of det cans, and carb spares.
