Default ST170 engine with vauxhall F28 gearbox

Please excuse me for my noob question but I desperately need a newer engine than the C20XE in my astra. I intend to use the St170 engine but the main question is: can I use it with a Vauxhall F28 gearbox?
I already have a F28 with higher final drive and I really want to use it, I dont want a Ford gearbox.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

you would need a custom bell housing, but i really don't know why you want to change engine's unless it's for better emissions?

Rick.
