Hi everyone! just joined the site, realy hoping someone can help with annoying ongoing prob with my st170.

MIL light comes on now and again, engine reluctant to rev beond 4000-7000rpm,hestitation/brief cutting out/ no throttle response-if back off throttle it returns to normal, although no fault codes come up, fitted a new sports cat/new ford exhaust sensors,(passed mot last week) and new IMRC -inlet manifold runner control module (both original ford cat, sensors, imrc were faulty-previous codes showing up on diagnostic reader-PO420, P1518) what reader does come up with is ,cat/sensors not ready'
been to ford dealer who ran diagnostics on car,no codes showing up, only came back with info. i already gave them beforehand! no help they just put it down to a non ford cat.Although was running like this year or so before original ford cat/sensors gave up ghost! so i dont think its the new cat. friend sugested TPS -throttle position sensor may try this next.

Anybody with similar problems with st170? problem is driving me nuts!

i think i am on the same boat!!! my st170 will not pull over 4k. i hav changed the fuel filter,plugs,leads,coilpack,cat and the air mass sensor. its drivin me mad. no computers are findin the fault. think i might hav to get rid of it soon cos i cant cope wiv it!!!!!

 

what spark plugs are you guys running?

a mate of mine fitted ngk platinums (which by the way are great plugs and i've never had a problem with in any of my cars) and apparently they caused the ecu to die though dont know how that works!
