Vibratechnics engine mount trouble. Mk4 Fiesta. Help please!
I recently bought a complete set of VibraTechnics mounts for my Mk4 fiesta.
I bolted on the Drivers side mount that joins to the engine block and the Torque link bar underneath to the gearbox, and was really pleased with the results.
The engine now feels much more solid in the car and despite the extra vibrations the car shake is not as bad ans I might have expected.
I had to wait a few days to get the VB GearBox mount put on, as you have to use a press to push it into the old mount housing.
Once I did this and fitted the new VB mount the problem began...
I now get lots of vibration when turning left under load (whilst accelerating or going at speed) and when accelerating hard in a straight line.
The vibrations come through the steering wheel and almost feel like it could be the driveshafts knocking or something. Feels a bit like a drill on hammer action.
Has anyone else had any similar trouble? I have put the old standard ford gearbox mount back on and the problem goes away!
What can it be? Any help anyone has will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
