Default xr3i MFI

when i bolt my turbo onto my std 3i engine and pipe it inbetween the metering head and the inlet, will the metering head sense that more air is going in and put more fuel in?

i'm not too well up on the k-jetronic yet

cheers for any help

Erm, I'd have thought your biggest problem would be how to stop the engine melting!

A standard XR3i engine is not really suitable for turbocharging (unless it's REALLY light pressure), the compression ratio is too high. You either need low-compression pistions (i.e. an RST bottom end) or a de-compression plate (not a favoured solution).

Even once this is done, I doubt that the standard system is capable of measuring that large a volume of air and even if it could, chances are that the injectors wouldn't be unable to supply enough fuel...meaning a lean mixture...meaning a melted engine!

It might be easier to fit an RS Turbo engine complete.

oh i know it isnt ideal but ive got a t3 and all the pipework so i'm going to bolt it all on, i'm planning to build a zetec and get to grips with megasquirt when it blows up but i was planning on slightly boosting the CVH first, just wondering if it would know to put more fuel in
