To change the front coil springs on a Mk3 2001 Mondeo?


I think one has snapped........

 

dont smack hub with hammer to drop hub from strut abs works on wheel bearing magnet and breaks it other wise b=not to bad just a few more bits to undo to free shock from hub

 

Just checked it up on the jack and it's deffo snapped at the top.

 

Very common these days.

they changed the metal they make springs of recently due to health and safety issues one of the additives they banned made the metal more malleable hence as tabetha says really common to see broken springs b warned mondeo uses long springs and they take a lot of compressing nasty if u make a mistake

 

Got it booked in at Houghton MOT centre, Barry's gonna do both sides for Ł130,
