my main beam dont work, wen i flip to main beam my lights just cut out!!??

The stalk with the light switch on the mk4 escort can be very troublesome, unlikely that both bulbs have blown, so I would first check for output from the switch when you select mainbeam from dip on the stalk.

try changing the light switch or, if not, it could be down to an earth somewhere ? i had the same problem and it turned out to be a knackred switch.

 

how do i check for a out put on the stalk???
