Focus start up problem
Hello, i've a 2006 focus 1.6 vct ti ghia. i've owned it since december 08. since the day i got it, its had a metallic "ticking" or squeal when heated screens are put on. It has been back to the ford dealers around 9 times now. They've tried changing everything on timing belt side of engine still the exact same. Service manager just says its cause of load on the belt, i've never had another ford due this, he checked a showroom focus with same engine and accidently said it didn't have it.
Any ideas anyone?
I'm ready to hand car back to them, which they say i can't do. But i've had other problems too, clutch master cylinder failed on motorway, very little air coming out of heater vents turns out pollen filter was blocked solid (which they changed before i got it, but hadn't bothered)
cheers baz

If it makes the same noise when you put on lots of other lecky things, then you are most likely looking at a slipping belt, could be aggravated by a very stiff alternator bearing.
If it does it only on the front screen, then look to see if it has a air bypass valve located on the bulkhead, this is often the case with front screens, if it has check it is connected at both ends, if one side is free to air then it will cause air to be sucked in when open/on, which would account for the noise.
