Default Attn Weber sidedraught experts!

Hi dudes,

Prob a daft question but does anyone know what sort of power ceiling 40 DCOE's have before necessitating a switch to 45's?

I have a lovely fresh pair of 40's that I could fit 34mm chokes into, but wondered if I should start with a pair of 45's with what seems like the std fitment 36mm chokes! My carbs are sweet, but I don't want them to be a restriction!

They are going on a track based Pug 205 1700 running 11.5:1 comp, with a fully sorted head, 308 degree cam and a supersprint 4 branch and system. It will rev to 8k, and I am expecting 160 -170 horses from it.

Your advice would be really appreciated

Thanks

A few people seem to switch over at the 150 odd bhp mark. id personally run 45s with the smaller chokes but it would be best to speak to an old skool engine builder

I would use the 45's at that level with 34mm chokes, be a bit boggy low down but vastly better once up there where it matters over the 40's.

Thanks guys.

Much appreciated.

Looks like I will be putting my 40's on the market then :-(

Finding decent sidedraughts for reasonable money isn't easy!!

Thanks

Personally I'd go with DHLA, rather than DCOE, both designed by the same man,(which is why they are similar), he is now retired living in Hingham, Norfolk.
The DHLA(dellorto) was a better instrument.

Hi dude, I have heard that before as it goes, and I probably would, had it not been for the fact that I've just bought some Genuine weber twinn cable linkages for these after the old ones kept jamming up!

Wrong side of 80 quid!!

Thanks man
