Escort mk4 rev counter installation prbs
hello everyone, I'm a new member and this a my first post! And I had a very good impression of this website, really great work mates
Soo...I have an escort mk4 L 5dr 1.3 OHV pushrod engine, and its all standard including the instrument panel with a time clock.
I want to change the instrument cluster with one having a rev counter that I already bought from e bay together with a white dial kit
so now I am looking how to install it and make the tacho work
since no harness is ready for it and no other harnesses are available.
My current dash got two red plugs at the rear, and the rs got two larger blue and white plugs + then I've open both of them and I've noticed that the temp and fuel gauges aren't similar my current gauges are tightened with two screws and connected to the circuitry with them while the rs ones got three pins respectivly. The rev allso got three pins which I didn't asspected since many told me it got only a sender connection, till now its a mission impossible, any help and ideas are apriciated!
Thanks allot!
stephen

The wire will most likely be there already, look on the coil to see which wire colour it is(negative) think it's a light green but not sure then see if it is on the clocks.
The easy way is to just in future get the connector from the car the clocks are taken out of to copy, usually just moving one wire does the trick.
