Default Sport ka issues

Ive just bought an 03 plate Sportka, the day after i got it home the engine warning light came. I took it back to the garage and they told me it was a fuel pressure fault because the car had been run on very low fuel for the last week or so so when i filled the tank the ecu spat it dummy out. They reset the ecu but within 5 miles the light was back on. I booked it to go back in to the garage for it sorting but in the mean time i got a new head unit fitted.

Now the car has been with them for nearly a week now and there saying that the diagnostic machine cant read the ecu due to the radio been fitted.
Ive never herd of any thing like this so i just thought id ask if any one eles had.

Thanks

To put it bluntly, THEY ARE FULL OF SHIT.
They either know nothing about cars or about this one, it is thier job to fix it, I would offer to replace the original headunit back and tell them you want your money back.
The fuel pressure is not going to be affected unless you are running out, running it low does no harm whatsoever, unless it picks up crap from the tank, but won't suddenly spit it's dummy out, when you fill it up.
What would have been told it what you expect from a comedian, and it would be very funny, but not in this instance, it's crap.

i agree with the above. iv also got a sportka had it for a year but last week the engine warning light came on so took it to garage and they plugged it in the diagnostics and they've told me its a sensor in the CAT system? but the light has since not come back on but if it does then i'll just need the sensor replaced.

I actually quite like the sport ka, but think ford should have done a bit of a harder core version as well, such as mustang V8 power!!

As been said, either they don't know know what there on about or there trying to pull a fast one at your expense, if the latter I would have thought they would of come up with something better than trying to say running low on fuel will cause ECU to "Spit it's dummy out"
