escort mk4 bolt on wing conversion
Try again with this thread after it was lost in the black hole
Im thinking about converting my mk4 escort wings to bolt on when i replace them in the near future, and was wondering what is the best way to go about it, has anyone had any problems doing this conversion, eg door jam section as the rest looks straight forward, and whats the MOT man have to say about it ? cheers for any usefull info

20K+ Super Poster.
I had this very conversation after reading the original thread, with my mot man.
He says, in his opinion he would fail it for this citing the following reason.
Lets just say the original wing was spot welded every 2 inches, just for arguments sake, he would want to see bolts every 2 inches to satisfy himself that it was as secure as before, he did point out mot personell are not strctural engineers, so not able to from a legal point of view comment of strength/suitability of different repair techniques.
The mot is to a large extent discretionary in this respesct, others may be happy to pass, and this was only his opinion/attitude.
