Hi, the car has sat off the road for 2 years, had it started now and again to keep things lubed.
Decided it was time to put it back on the road, so gave it a wash and headed for its mot.
On the way there, it came on boost in 3rd gear went ok, changed to 4th and totaly dead, pulled over and tried to start it, not even an offer......
But noticed when priming the pump, the injectors squeel, and its never done that before.
I reckon its a prob with the metering head, but just wondered if anyone else had encountered this problem?

the fuelpump tends to make a squealing noise when there is no petrol in the tank or when they are on the way out..try pressing the flap on the metering head when trying to start as the fuelling may be miles out...first place i would start as it dont cost anything to check

It started and ran no probs to the petrol station, it was just after being on boost in 3rd that this has happened....
Like i said, when the pump is priming, the injectors are "squeeling" like they are opening. And they shouldn`t open until the flap is pulled down by the vacum from the engine/turbo.
Possibly needle inside metering head jammed wide open and flooding the plugs up with petrol??????

I have had a look at it today, checked spark..ok. So slackened the banjo bolts for the injector pipes and primmed the pump, alot of fuel came out with out cranking the engine?
Removed the plugs, and when cranking lots of fuel comes out the spark plug ports!??
Came to a conclusion that whatever controls the fuel for coming on boost is stuck wide open???
And is flooding the spark out before it gets a chance to start.....
Obvious thing to do is change the metering head and try it, but just wanted some advice.
Any ideas anyone????
