hi all
i own a 2004 mondeo zetec 2.0tdci which i have had for about 6months now with a few problems,the latest one being that i cant get my bonnet open.from behind the badge i can unlock the bonnet then turn the key the other way to release the catch does nothing,can anybody advise if there is another way to get in or even if there is an emergency release somewhere or do i really just need a very big hammer or a jemmy bar

Try pushing down on the bonnet as you unlock it,

It's a common problem unfortunately, hard to explain but one way to do it is to drill through the side of the lock, and push the lock forwards with a screwdriver as your opening it and it should work, youll need a new grille aswell unless your careful.

 

So if i hook the back of the lock pulling it forword should hopful release as i cant get no acces atm

 

got mine sorted this week,had to cut the grill off then i had to cut the lock off because of the tamper proof bolts,seems it wernt the lock that was at fault and just the connecting rod that had disconnected.the lock will need replacing due to the mess i made of it but for now ive left it off and just using a screw driver to open,nothing can wrong with that now.the price of a new grille was just short of £40 minus the chrome surround and the lock will cost £67 but then u will need a lock smith to make it up to fit your key
