Default 3i, RST MFI

whats the difference between the RST MFI and the XR3I MFI? ive got an xr3i cab and i want to build a ZVH turbo for it but i need to know if i'll be able to use the xr3i injection system with an RST ECU, if not i'll convert it to efi and use a full zetec rather than a ZVH, i'm just weighing up my options

cheers

i have seen 3i mfi zvh's but they tend to be n/a ones

you can do it but its a lot more hassle as you would still need to get a rst loom or aftermarket loom and do a lot of pipe work as the rst mfi has a charger carrier that runs accross the rocker the 3i runs along the back etc

if you've got the chance go zetec turbo with aftermarket management you'll get better bhp figures

Hey dude Im currently taking out my old 3I engine and putting in a RST lump. Just as a heads up, and sorry if you already have, but you need to look at everything. There is alot more to change then originally seems i.e gearbox radiator ECU the lot. I would say sell the 3I engine as a hole and use the money to buy everything properly.

lots of differences, the RST system uses an ecu to provide corrections/additional fuel etc.
