Question wiring trouble

I recently put a 1600 cvh into my 89 escort it used to be a 1.3 bonus so it has that shitty instrument panel(it has a clock instead of a rev counter)
How do i wire up the panel from an xr3i? any tips?

I'd be very surprised if they were different, what I usually do is cut off the connector on the donor car with the clocks and see what's different wiring wise to your car.

You need the connector from the dash clocks you are fitting. Connect each wire together with the same colours. You will then be left with a green wire on the "new" plugs which goes to the coil (or coil pack if you are still running them) and a red wire from the "old" plugs which is not required (+12v).

IF you are still running a coil pack, then you will need a set of XR3i EFi clocks, if running a coil, then all should be good.

I am sure the only wire to move on my old y reg mk2 escort was the green as well.
