Hello,

The glow plug light on my mondeo has just started flashing, the EMU light is on solid and the car has no power.

I read elsewhere that this means it has gone into safe mode to prevent further damage, and how to go into diagnostic mode to look for any error codes. The diagnostic says 'dtc none'. From what I have read in other forums, this could mean any number of problems.

I've booked it in to Ford on Monday and am now settling in for a weekend of worrying about expensive repeated diagnostics with expensive solutions to try that don't solve it, then back to expensive diagnostics.

Does anyone know what it is likely to be? Also, does anyone know what the diagnostic process is like? Am I likely to be given a 'well, we could try this.......and if that doesn't work we could try this.......' or will they be able to diagnose pretty accuratly?

ps. by 'no power' I mean it revs okay, but doesn't actually go very fast. It starts perfectly well.
