1.7 zetec oil filter housing
Has anyone got a pic of the oil filter housing on a 1.6 -1.7 zetec engine without the oil filter on it.
Or does anyone know if the small hole to the left of the filter mounting thread should have something in it? (is there supposed to be a safety valve in it?)

Is there normally a bypass valve (they are normally ball bearings in a little retainer) on the filter in ford engines?
Dont want to be driving it if the oil is bypassing the filter!
