Ok, ive had an idea for my escort van, as there is no aftermarket rear lights i can buy for my mk6 van, would it be possible to remove the red and orange tints thus making my rear lights clear?

Then just simply a case of replacing clear bulbs for orange ones.

Ive seen de-tangoing done on front lights of focus and mondeos so surely i can do it?

Advice would be great! cheers

gotta be similar to getting the orange tint out of indicators etc

 

Im having the same problem mate. My van had the rear lights sprayed black when I bought it but it look soo shit aswell as being illegal so I went out and bought standard lights in the end. Im still on the search for new lights so Ill get in touch if I find some

 

Yeah nice one, i took mine out to see if there was any way of removing the tints in the lenses but the lenses are coloured all the way thru, i have found some transit clear lights with LEDs but none for escort vans.

I wonder if a clear perspex sheet could be formed in the same shape as the lenses???
