finally got round to removing the head of my erst and this is what i find
what would cause this

 

Stainless valves and standard guides perhaps?

 

had it dropped a valve or the tip of a plug?

 

Two valves are clearly the case, you can see the valve-plates beneath the crowns...

 

there is 2 like that int there, - only noticesd the one onthe right befoer, thought the left one was water reflecting off the top what work has been done to the car prior to this happening as i take it it was making hell of a noise when whatever happened, happened?

 

yeah thats right. mechanic said its dropped a valve, the tip of the spark plugs were all bent as fook.
Yeah there is 2 like that, didnt seem to make that much noise all i remember is changing from 2nd to 3rd and a loud grinding sort of noise and then it died
The head is also fooked.
