Help with exhaust fitting
Hi all was wondering if this exhaust will bolt straight onto a mfi manifold cheers all
Stainless Steel complete Escort MK3 or MK4 exhaust. Was fitted originally to a Series 2 RS turbo. But all MK3 and MK4 escorts use the same exhaust "route" through the chassis. The system is 2.5 inches in diametre. The back box end is round polished 3.5 inches in size with an inward rolled edge. You will need rubber hanger mounts and exhaust clamps to fit to a car. If your exhaust or manifold is a smaller diametre than 2.5 inches you can purchase a "step up" connector from places such as Demon tweeks

You would need to keep your front pipe and then have the RS exhaust adapted to fit the end of this front section then use the entire rear RS setion but the bore of this will more than likely give too little backpressure.
Another option is to just use your entire system then just have the RS backbox fitted but then it would probably be cheaper just to get an XR3i backbox than waste money on an RS system only to use the silencer.
