just been on xrtwo.com asked i f anyone had an inlet to mount twin 40s,

few said the standard cvh couldnt cope with these ,

what do you think people cheers,its for my mate

 

They can cope easliy but i would go for the bike carbs over DCOES any day

 

Twins 40's on a STANDARD cvh are a waste. You'll just be burning the fuel/bore washing for nothing

 

OOps, my bad, didnt see the "standard" remark, thats true, waste of time unless the engine is modded!

The xr3 as any engine of 1600cc or different will cope if they are set up correctly, there's no mystery, but as said a waste of time, in my mind unless you MUST have carbs, if you want to mod go FI, with tb's, not so bad done on cheap.
Saying that there are other carbs that would give better driveability for a lot less cash and mpg!!
