just found out that my car is a 1.6i and not an xr3i whats the difference mines exact same as 3i,elec windows,remote central locking,electric mirrors,efi engine, is there any difference

 

what age car? 16v engine or 8v cvh? probably not a lot, a 3i may have stiffer suspension and different alloys as standard.

 

The Mk4 yeah the 3i had the bodykit, suspension and interior to go with it. Engines were about the same.

Same with the Mk5,6,7 XR3i but that had a 108bhp and 130bhp versions of the engine.

 

when i got mine its got 90 spec recaros and door cads,remote central locking,turbo bonnet and kit,its got a power hood as standard i know its standard because my mate had a power roof put on his,he still had the little roof leavers in the back to unlock the roof when down,mine locks and unlocks it self,

 

There are also mk4 1.6i Escorts with catalysator and KE-jetronic and pushing out 90 bhp as opposed to the XR3i's 105bhp.

 

dont think mine has got a cat,goes like f**k for an escort,nand i thought the efi escorts are 108bhp,KE-jetronic isnt that on the mfi engine
