Fuel cut off mk4 escort cabriolet?
I hit a pothole in my escort rs turbo convertible with the front left tyre and it cut out, does anyone know if these cars have a fuel cut off switch or any other reason why this car wont start. It starts for a second or 2 then just cuts out. Any ideas? im stuck

Only the EFI cars had the fuel cutoff.
Have you checked the relay aint come out or that the wires on the pump aint been pulled off or that the pump was damaged when you hit the pothole

there's a pink relay hanging loose held be cable ties under the drivers side dash, cant find a loose connector so think it might be there for a spare, How many relays should be there? also theres a purple one connected with F written on it

keep the car door open and when you turn the ignition on listen for the fuel pump should come on for a second then go off,if no pump noise take the pink relay out to inspect it,on my old cabriolet it used to play up pain in the arse those relays

Just take the vent out next to the steering wheel and shine a torch down it and you should be able to see the bank of relays
