my 2wd cossie got a bit hot on the way to work tonight.i think it's the thermostat stuck closed as the gauge was in the red and the heaters were cold.there shouldn't be any issues with air locks as car has been fine up until now and hasn't had any work done to it(to the cooling system anyway).when i pulled up there was steam coming out of the header tank,does this mean the pumps ok?

 

The engine and heater matrix are supplied the same, if the engine was boiling and the heater was cold it's not the stat at fault, could have been a air lock in the heater circuit or a number of things.
