Hi all
i have a mk6 escort with a fiesta turbo engine and managment.

but the fooking thing will not boost.

i've checked the actuator and seems to be ok. nice and tight

i've done a t3 conversion using erst manifold and the turbo is brand fine new never been used.

before the engine came out of the fiesta it prodused enough boost to make the dump valve work by just revving the engine, now it will not. If I rev the engine quite hard the top intercooler pipe sucks itself shut.

any help or tips would be great.

there is a serious blockage somewhere, check the ic (this is my guess)
the hose shouldnt suck itself in, this is a good indication off a blockage. Take all the hoses off and check the turbo, ic etc

 

Yeah the vacuum created at high RPM is sucking the pipe in, on a turbo chrged car there should be positive pressure not vacuum!!
Either the turbo isnt spooling up, or there is a blockage IMO if it were a blockage the engine wouldnt run as it would have no air!
I think your turbo isnt spooling up for some reason, take the boost hose off and check the shaft spins!

i've checked ic and no blockage the turbo is spinning i know this as there is no air filter on it at the moment. it is only sucking the top hose shut not the bottom turbo hose thats why i thought the ic was blocked. i've by passed the amal valve. will the engine still boost if it's not under load.

any more ideas!!!!!

i'm starting to think that the actuator might be fuck'd
