Default Actuator ID & intercoolers

On my actuator the number 91 067
43 0099-17 is stamped on it and also P1.
Can anyone tell me if it is a standard or uprated one.
My car is a 1988 2wd,is the intercooler from a 4wd bigger or is the RS500 model the one to have and does it fit without any cutting ?

Hi Mikkel, you new here? welcome, have fun!
that sounds like a standard actuator from those numbers, although the 2wd ones I've seen have been marked -18 rather than -17..
The 4wd intercooler is larger (but similar style) than 2wd, the RS500 one is huge, and mounts in front of the radiator instead of on top like 2wd and 4wd ones.
You can if you wish mount either on your 2wd, although unless you intend to be uprating engine power, it's doubtful you would notice any benefit.. Also worth noting that the RS500 cooler has larger diameter outlets that will not fit the standard boost hoses.

ah, ok..
So (thinking aloud )where do these 'psi ratings' come from..? A -31 actuator will start lifting at 8psi or so, so i'm curious how it would get referred to as a '14psi' actuator.
On the same scale then, the -17 would be pretty much standard ?

Personal experience Rich.
When set with the normal half hole preload and the Amal valve unplugged (electrically) this is what boost I've found they hold.

My -34 will hold 18psi without the aid of the Amal valve on normal preload.

The standard is a -18 IIRC. -17s are a touch stronger.

Does that clear things up a bit?
