ive just had a new bottom end and i got a stage 3 head ported polished and big valved with a piper 285t2 cam in standard turbo, turbo sys chip, pace intercooler
ive put it all bk 2gether when i try starting it, it takes ages to start then it wont tick over
now to this part which i cant understand the turbo i got a -31 which says 15psi on the bottom ive put it on my turbo and its boosting in the 20's ive tryed winding it down but i lost all boost then i done it with no load on the wastegate so it just cliped over and it peeks at 22 and hold 20psi and when i get to 90mph its cutting out as iff ive lost everything
and another part when the cars warm if i leave it for a while like 20 mins come bk to it and it seems like my battery is flat when it aint but if its cold it will start eventually
plz can someone help me

I aint an expert M8, but think id be taking it for a RR set up!
The last thing you want hapening is dammage to your new engine!
Have you had the fueling timimg set up?
The reluctancy to start could be a timing related issue!
I had similar issues with 1 of my S2's (Reluctance to start on cold & at times needing bumped to start when warm) and it was all down to 2 much retard on the ignition.
Dont mess about with it!
Hope you get it sorted!

Like the fella above says, get it looked at.
Did you build the engine yourself??
Check you aint got the timing belt out by one tooth on the cam pulley. If you are out the car will be difficult to start but will run but really lumpy and low on power.
Your starting problem when warm could be a number of things ~ Alternator on its way out, battery not holding charge and quit common on the old RS Turbos is the wiring breaking down as it gets old and not being able to draw anough current to turn the starter motor.
I have a Ally actuator same as you from Burton, rated 19 - 22 psi (I think) and its so difficult to get set up correctly, in the end i just settled for the 22 psi, which is more fun anyways.
Your probably cutting out at 90mph coz your hitting over boost, your new chip may be set to cut the engine if you go over something like 22 psi (Although i'm not all that clued up on chips).
Your not far from where i live, Try giving either Engine advantages (essex) or Race Power Motorsport (RPM [Gravesend]) a call.
Both should sort you out.

thanx for ur help guys ive sorted the boost im running 11psi at the mo
the starting problem would it be the starter motor cos my one is some big thing and someone said it might be the heat from the turbo doing it
as for my chip its a turbos systems one my mate said it runs 18psi
and the engine was rebuilt and was run in before i got it cos the car was a rusty one failed its mot after the engine had been run in
any more help would be good thanx guys

Leave the gate open to stop the turbo boosting so you don't damage the engine.

HI,
The chip from tony at turbo systems i have chipped a few rs's and bought the chips from tony has he told u what to set the car co% to, and cruise fuelling to,or have u just had the chip fitted to the ecu and run the car, cutting out have u checked with strobe timing at idle, and cambelt timing, and when fitting the engine made sure all the pipe work are tight no vacuum leaks even make sure dipstick is fitted all the way and oil cap is well on, the hot cranking problem seems like lazy starter motor especially if no heat shield fitted,
