Please can someone help, I have recently had an engine re-build on my 3i and now there are some kind of fumes coming into the car. I only notice this when the windows are open and it seems stronger on start-up and acceleration. There is no smoke from the rear and nothing from the enigine bay.
I'm not very clever mechanically, so need help....lol

what does it smell like???
cheak the entyre exaust system

If the whole engine has been rebuilt, you will get a few strange smells like new gaskets, oil form the manifold etc burning off.....

Thanks for the reply, it has been rebuilt for about 6 months now but the smell is like an oil/petrol smell. The exhaust is not blowing and you can only smell it if you open the window???

Do you have an oil breather on the engine? If it is breathing heavy this might explain it....???
