Default SECS ERROR message M.A.P sensor input failed

how can i tell if my map sensor is fooked. as i keep getting the above error on my secs monitor but the car still drives ok

via the secs intruction manual it says ..

"M.A.P sensor input failed"
The M.A.P sensor/wiring has failed.

the error warning has been intermittant..but its been flashing up quite a lot today

any ideas what to check for first please cars a cos 4x4

cheers

personally i'd check the connections between the secs monitor and the loom first mate.
if the connection is dodgy/being broken, then it will flash this message up.

if the connection is good, and the car loom is in good condition, then its possible the sensor is on the way out.

Edit: unsure if it flashes this message if the sensor goes 'out of range' for the monitor?
simon will be along shortly to reveal all im sure!

thanks for the reply.after the first error message it flows through the warning messages ie

"Battery High Alarm limit"
"Charge Air High Alarm limit"
"Coolant High Alarm limit" and so on

but if the cars turned off for a few mins the errors seem to clear

but as i have said the car runs fine..via the loom conection is it behind the glovebox direct to the ecu ??

cheers

Avid,

Sounds like a loose wire to me
Also check the plug in the back of the monitor is firmly pushed in.
