Default fitting plenum spacer

i have fitted a 10mm plenum spacer to my 4x4 sapph.when refitting the fuel rail i have bolted it to the rear of the lugs on the cover that it originally bolted to as if i had put it back as it was originally it would not reach the injector heads.was i correct in doing this or is there another way of refitting the fuel rail.

The 15mm spacer can sit on the other side of the lug fine... but the 10mm spacers normally require the lugs to be cut/ground back so the injectors sit at the correct angle...
