best way to get the bottom balljoint back in its bein a right arse???

if its locating near the hole in the strut just put a jack under it with slight pressure and tap the arm with a hammer

have you tried opening up the split that clamps together when the bolt is tight? A chisel should do it as well as cleaning up the ball joint itself with some sort of sandpaper. If you have access to a heat gun this will also help but mind all the rubber bits!
